Local Moving in Glen Burnie & the Baltimore Area
On the hunt for a local mover who truly knows the Baltimore area? K&M Movers is a licensed, insured Maryland outfit, and every job runs with our own people from the first box to the last, none of it brokered out and no day-labor pulled off an app that morning. One team owns the work, and one flat written price covers the lot.
What sets it apart
Around here the boxes are rarely what decides a move. It comes down to the marble stoop and straight-run stairs in a city row, the no-parking permit on a one-way street, the gate check out at Fort Meade, and the long carry down to a Pasadena waterfront. We settle all of that ahead of time, and moving day becomes the easy part.
How to get set
- Clear out and donate whatever is not making the trip
- Number your boxes by room and mark the fragile ones
- Sort the parking permit, base pass, or building COI ahead
- Break down beds and empty dressers the night before
- Keep your papers, keys, and valuables on you
What shapes your price
- How much is coming and the home size
- Distance across the metro and the county
- Stoops, stairs, parking, and base access
- The day of the week, season, and weather
- Packing and any specialty pieces

Three Steps to Moving Day
From the first hello to the last box carried up the stoop and set in the right room.
Tell Us About the Move
Give us the shape of the move by phone, on a quick video call, or straight through the form. What comes back is a flat price in writing, not a soft number that swells once the truck is loaded.
Lock In Your Date
Claim your day and we set the right crew and truck, then square away the city parking spot, the building COI, or the base-access pass your move needs.
We Carry the Load
One lead runs the whole job, wrap, load, drive, and place, with our own Anne Arundel crew, and we plan the run around 695 and the harbor tunnels so the day stays on time.
What’s in Every Local Moving Job
Book a local moving job with K&M Movers and the basics come standard, with no surprise upcharges and no fine-print catches:
- 2 movers plus a fully stocked truck
- Pads, dollies, and shrink wrap included
- Load, drive, unload, and placement
- Basic furniture take-apart and reassembly
Why the Baltimore area Trusts K&M Movers
- Licensed and insured to move household goods across Maryland
- Our own background-checked crew, never a day-labor pickup
- A flat price in writing, no add-ons waiting at the curb
- At home on Baltimore marble stoops, formstone rows, and third-floor walk-ups
- Base and PCS moves handled, from Fort Meade to the Naval Academy
- 4.9 / 5 from 157 Baltimore-area neighbors
Your Move, Fully Covered
Taken care of from the first blanket we throw down to the last box set on the second floor.
Fully Insured
Every job carries cargo and liability coverage, and we go over your valuation choices with you before you sign a single form.
Row-Ready
Marble stoops, narrow front doors, formstone rows, and third-floor walk-ups, we scout the carry and the parking so a city move never gets stuck at the door.
Padded & Wrapped
Every piece is blanketed, shrink-wrapped, and strapped down tight. If a piece takes a knock, we call it out on the spot and put it right.
Done Right
An honest price, a crew that gives a damn about the work, and nobody rolls out until every last piece sits where you want it.

What Our Customers Say
My wife and I hired K&M to help load our moving truck and we are beyond happy! They were extremely fast and efficient. We moved 1,700 miles, and when we arrived at our final destination not one piece of furniture was scratched or broken! Their team was very friendly and personable, and their pricing is awesome, the best quote we had received. Thanks again, guys!
These guys were amazing! Extremely responsive, polite and professional. They arrived on time on moving day, moved items from 3 different locations into our new house in pouring-down rain, and were lightning fast. Very reasonable pricing, too. Highly recommended!
Quick, efficient and affordable even on a hot August day! The movers were very friendly and packed up our stuff with care. Other movers were charging absurd prices, and these guys were the most affordable but most likely the best!
Questions We Hear a Lot
What is my move going to run?
It rides on two things: how much you are moving and how tight the access is. A two-mover crew with a truck starts at $125/hr, and you get an itemized written estimate before we pick up a single box. Want a hard ceiling? Request a flat cap and whatever you sign becomes the most your bill can reach. Out-of-state jobs are priced on the weight and the miles.
I’m in a Baltimore rowhouse with narrow stairs. Can you handle it?
That is our specialty. The rows in Federal Hill, Canton, Fells Point, Locust Point, and Hampden come with marble stoops, formstone fronts, narrow doorways, and steep straight-run stairs. We measure the tight turns, pad the rails and jambs, and hoist or hand-carry anything that will not make the bend.
When does the clock start?
The clock begins the moment the crew gets to work at your door, not when we roll out of the yard. Past the first hour we charge to the minute, so an hour and ten minutes bills as exactly that, never a rounded-up two hours. We spell out the crew rate and how travel time counts before anyone lifts a box.
Do you handle base and PCS moves?
Yes, and often. Anne Arundel County runs on the bases, so we move plenty of Fort Meade, NSA, and Naval Academy households. We work around your PCS timeline and paperwork, clear the base-access checks the gate requires, and can full-pack a government or self-arranged move. Ask about our discount for active-duty and veterans.
I’m moving to the Baltimore area from out of town. Can you help?
For sure, a solid share of our jobs are people arriving in the area, many of them PCSing in to Fort Meade or the Academy. We line up the delivery window, greet you at the new place, and sort out the parking, the stoop, or the base pass on our end. Your things ride on our truck, with our crew, and never get sold off to whoever bids the lowest that week.
Can I move or cancel my date?
Absolutely. Move your date or call it off with two days’ notice or more, and your deposit lands back with you in full. Your booking lists every condition in plain language, so nothing is left to guesswork.
